Wolf House Residency

Writing By Writers is pleased to offer two, one-week, residencies at The Wolf House in NE Minneapolis, Minnesota, March 2-9, 2019 and June 29-July 6, 2019.  The Wolf House Residency is open to fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers and poets.  Lodging is provided free of charge, however residents are responsible for their own meals, transportation and personal needs while at the residency.  Residencies are intended for writers only.  No spouses, children or friends are allowed.

Applications are due by August 15th and selections will be made by September 15th.  Applicants will be asked to provide a statement of intent, a short writing sample and submit a $50.00 tax deductible application fee.  The application fee will help fund fellowships at future Writing By Writers workshops.  Click here to apply for a residency now.

Winners will be selected by Pam Houston. Pam’s most recent book is Contents May Have Shifted, published in 2012, by W.W. Norton.  She is also the author of two collections of linked short stories, Cowboys Are My Weakness and Waltzing the Cat, the novel, Sight Hound, and a collection of essays called A Little More About Me, all published by W.W. Norton.  Her stories have been selected for volumes of Best American Short StoriesThe O. Henry AwardsThe Pushcart Prize, and Best American Short Stories of the Century. She is professor of English at UC Davis, co-founded the literary nonprofit Writing By Writers and teaches in The Institute of American Indian Art’s Low-Rez MFA and at writer’s conferences around the country and the world.  She lives on a ranch at 9,000 feet in Colorado near the headwaters of the Rio Grande.
